What makes South West Sydney different for HVAC marketing?
It is hot, it is growing, and the homes are big. Camden Airport averages 29.7°C in January and 55.2 days a year at 30°C or more. In the 2021 Census, 92.5% of Camden homes were separate houses and 71.6% had four or more bedrooms, the highest share of any area on our Sydney pages.
| 2021 Census, occupied dwellings | Camden | Campbelltown | Liverpool | Greater Sydney |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Separate house | 92.5% | 78.3% | 73.1% | 55.8% |
| Flat or apartment | 1.0% | 6.4% | 16.3% | 30.7% |
| 4 or more bedrooms | 71.6% | 38.7% | 47.4% | 33.1% |
| Owned with a mortgage | 52.7% | 40.0% | 38.7% | 33.3% |
| Rented | 24.8% | 33.9% | 35.2% | 35.9% |

Over half of Camden homes owned with a mortgage tells you who the buyer is: a family in a new four-bedroom house, often a few years in, deciding whether to finally do the aircon properly. That is a ducted conversation.
How hot does South West Sydney get?
Much hotter than the coast. Camden Airport averages 29.7°C in January and 55.2 days a year at 30°C or more. Badgerys Creek, just north-west of Austral and Leppington, averages 30.0°C and 57.3 days. Observatory Hill in the city averaged 26.0°C and 15.2 such days over its record.
| BOM station | Record used | Mean Jan max | Days ≥ 30°C a year | Days ≥ 35°C a year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Badgerys Creek AWS | 1995 to 2026 | 30.0°C | 57.3 | 15.6 |
| Camden Airport AWS | 1971 to 2026 | 29.7°C | 55.2 | 14.9 |
| Holsworthy Aerodrome AWS | 2012 to 2026 | 29.2°C | 48.7 | 12.7 |
| Sydney (Observatory Hill) | 1859 to 2020 | 26.0°C | 15.2 | 3.2 |

About three and a half times the city's hot days means a long cooling season. It also means heatwave weeks where the phone rings off the hook and a small team cannot get to every quote. Planning spend around the diary matters as much as the ads do.
Who buys what in South West Sydney?
New-estate owners in Oran Park, Gregory Hills, Leppington, Edmondson Park and Austral buy ducted, often with zoning. Established owners in Campbelltown, Ingleburn and Casula buy ducted replacements, multi-head, or a split for the hottest room. We only advertise the first two. Renters, about a third of homes in Campbelltown and Liverpool, get filtered.
- New estates. Some homes come with ducted, some with a rough-in, some with nothing. The quote is very different for each, so the qualifier asks what is there now.
- Established homes. Older brick and fibro homes in Campbelltown, Ingleburn and Casula. Whole-home upgrades, replacing tired splits, and the ESS discount where eligible.
- Growth-area first-home buyers. Budget is real. The qualifier asks about budget so your tech walks in knowing whether it is a ducted or a multi-head conversation.
How would we run Meta and Google ads in South West Sydney?
We would run Meta and Google Search together, split into growth-area estates and established suburbs: a ducted offer in the estates, a ducted replacement offer in the older areas, spend timed ahead of forecast heat. The radius follows your depot. Liverpool and Camden installers would get different circles, even inside one region.
Our South West plan:
- Estates ad set: Oran Park, Gregory Hills, Harrington Park, Spring Farm, Leppington, Edmondson Park, Austral. Offer: "Moved in, still no ducted? Free in-home heat-load assessment, install before summer."
- Established ad set: Campbelltown, Ingleburn, Casula, Liverpool. Offer: replace old ducted or upgrade from splits to a whole-home system, NSW discount applied on the quote where eligible. No single-room split ads.
- Budget question up front. With so many homes on a mortgage, the qualifier's budget answer decides whether a ducted or multi-head quote gets booked.
- Google Search: the same suburbs, bidding on ducted and replacement searches such as "ducted air conditioning Oran Park", plus breakdown searches in heatwaves, when a dead system in a four-bedroom house becomes urgent.
- Seasonal split: the $4,000 minimum starts at Meta $2,500 and Google $1,500, and flips to Google $2,500 and Meta $1,500 from December to February, because people search when systems break.
- Diary guard. When the forecast turns hot, we lift spend a few days early and pull it back if your next free quote slot is more than a week away.
The creative for five-figure systems is in marketing ducted air conditioning. How the offer, page and qualifier connect is on our HVAC lead generation page, and the Search build is on Google Ads for HVAC.
What could a month look like in South West Sydney?
On our planning numbers, about 12 to 13 booked quotes from $4,000 of combined Meta and Google spend. If most are ducted, that is about 3 to 4 jobs at the 30% close rate we plan with. We have no South West client data yet, so this is an assumption to be replaced by your real numbers.
Worked example: one month in the Macarthur estates (planning assumptions)
Ad spend: $2,500 Meta + $1,500 Google = $4,000
$4,000 ÷ $100 to $130 blended cost per enquiry = about 35 enquiries, 60% qualify = about 21, 60% book = about 12 to 13 booked quotes
12.5 booked quotes × 30% close rate = about 3 to 4 jobs
Gross profit per ducted job: $2,300 to $4,800, about $3,500 as the planning midpoint
If 3 ducted jobs at the midpoint: 3 × $3,500 = $10,500 gross profit. At the low end, 3 × $2,300 = $6,900
Cost: $3,000 fee + $4,000 ad spend = $7,000
Break-even: $7,000 ÷ $3,500 = about 2 ducted jobs a month
On your numbers, about two ducted jobs a month covers everything you'd spend with us, fee and ads. Anything past that is yours. The low-end line above shows why we check your job value and margin on the audit call first.
A 3 to 4 bedroom ducted install in Sydney is $10,500 to $16,500 as a planning range. We have not priced a South West job ourselves yet, so we use the Sydney range until real quotes come back.
Does the NSW ESS discount matter in South West Sydney?
It matters more in the established suburbs than in the new estates. The NSW Energy Savings Scheme gives eligible households an upfront discount on the quote, indicatively up to $550 for a new 6kW system and up to $560 replacing an old unit with a 6kW split. There is no closing date.
On a new ducted system in Oran Park, it is a small line on the quote. In Campbelltown, replacing a tired split or two, it is a real reason to book now. The NSW page notes homes that already have an efficient system may not qualify. See our NSW discount guide for installers.
How do South West Sydney homeowners search?
They search by suburb and system: ducted air conditioning Oran Park, aircon installer Campbelltown, air con Liverpool, split system Narellan. We have not pulled keyword volumes for this page, so we will not quote any. Expect sharp spikes on hot days and a lot of "near me" searching.
We run both channels for that reason. Google Search catches the urgent buy and the breakdown, and we bid on ducted and replacement searches, not "split system Narellan". Meta catches the new-estate family in October, before the first hot week, when they still have time to book a proper quote.
Is South West Sydney open?
Yes. We have no HVAC client in South West Sydney yet. We take one HVAC client per service line per area, first come. See how it compares with the other regions on the Sydney HVAC marketing page.
