On-page SEO is everything you control on your own pages. It's the most fixable part of SEO and often the fastest win. Work through this checklist page by page.
Titles and meta descriptions
Every page needs a unique title tag with its target keyword near the front, and a meta description that earns the click. These are your shopfront in the search results, don't leave them to chance or let two pages share the same one.
Headings and structure
Use one clear H1 per page that states the topic, then H2s and H3s to organise the content logically. Good structure helps readers scan and helps Google understand what the page is about.
Content that answers the query
- Cover the topic thoroughly and answer the questions searchers actually ask.
- Write for humans first, then place keywords naturally, never stuff them.
- Add your location where local relevance matters.
Internal links and images
Link related pages to each other with descriptive anchor text so both users and Google can navigate. Compress images, give them descriptive file names and alt text. These small things add up across a whole site.
Technical basics
Make sure the page loads fast on mobile, uses a clean readable URL, and isn't accidentally blocked from indexing. You don't need to be a developer to check these, but you do need to check them.
